About works / performance

Exhibition with Yoshitaka Yazu, exhibition view  (photo: Yuko Shirahata)

I use mainly flat and solid means for my works. In the initial stage, I mix the scale, the interval, the time, the space between myself and the universe and the "near-far" fades into a homogenization, and express my own present position at the origin and in the future. In recent years, the subject matter of my work changed to "mountain", and, taking the common denominator of "concentration" that surpasses the notions of micro and macro, I measure my own present real situation and work on fusing together art and outdoor amusement through the experience of climbing mountains.
