Recreated here is a theatrical production based on interviews on the subject of “work” that Ressenchka has been conducting with an unspecified number of people. The work features a performance by Saito Ayako, who addresses the issue of “existence” based on her own body as a fundamental element. Being a dancer, Saito considers dance to be intrinsically linked to her work, without clearly distinguishing between “dance for the viewing public” and “dance for herself.” Does such a distinction exist in the first place? The dialogue with herself in this piece, is at once a means of confronting herself as a dancer.

Ressenchka is a company that produces works of performance art, led and directed by Kawai Hogara. In recent years, they have been conducting interviews with a variety of people regardless of age or profession, the contents of which they collage into pieces of text that their performances are based around. In addition to these, the company also uses dramas and other existing texts, with the aim to reconstruct reality as it actually is, incorporating moral aspects from times past and present, and the respective truths and realities of the interviewed individuals.
