Purpose of the residency
After 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, I have been researching about the place for praying and the time for prayer. "Time and the place for prayer" doesn't only mean religious place and time but also means the place naturally makes you pray and the time you feel something special. In England, There have been a lot of place for prayer in many different time era such as ancient stone circle and medieval chapel and so on. While I am in England, I would like to research about the local sacred place which have existed since long before.Then I will try to capture the lights in the sight by using suitable technique to the site.
Plan during the residency
I will research about place where people used to use for praying such as ancient stone circle and the remain of medieval church. Especially, I will research about the how lights go through the place and the direction of the site. Also I will research about the history of the places and how people pray in the site. Based on the research, I will study the best way to capture the light of specific place and the time and try to create some kind of visual art works.
