Purpose of the residency

for a three-month grant to conduct research on contemporary art, meet artists and curators, and participate in an artist residency program.

Plan during the residency

Four years past from the nuclear accident, Japan is trying to forget everything now. Germany is known for being good at settling the past. While our stay, we could learn a lot from it which enables us to search for a new possibility for the future of Japan. Since 2011, Germany decided to stop operating nuclear power plant one after another. The shortage in energy is compensated from abroad such as France. Japan and Germany both have the same problem, and it made us realize that "we cannot live without electricity." We would like to visit both Berlin and nuclear related area to have a whole image of Germany. By participating socially active residence, we desire to absorb various opinions to think about the future of nuclear related countries.
