Purpose of the residency

My main purpose of this program is to present my works to the local people in Berlin. For this program, I will show my current photo project which capturing the past and present of Berlin's airports focused on the theme of memories of a city, as well as show previous works in Germany for the first time. This opportunity to show my work at Kunstraum Bethanien, a cultural facility with historical importance, is of great importance to a young artist as me. Given that my work focuses on the city of Berlin, I look forward to feedback especially from the local art community.

Plan during the residency

With exhibition of the previously unseen new work "Three Airports in Berlin" (tentative title) as the final objective, I will spend three months on preparations, including framing and producing large prints for exhibition. I will also hold open studio events twice in May to present my previous work to the local art community. During the program, I will move ahead with my current work by continuing research for a photographic project on three generations of immigrants. At the same time, I will produce a small project by focusing on the value of Kunstraum Bethanien as a historical building by taking photographs every day.
