Shaun Irons & Lauren Petty

Shaun Irons is a multi-disciplinary artist working in video, sound, performance, painting and collage and is a long time Associate of New York's theater company The Wooster Group. Lauren Petty, a video artist, editor and teacher, is currently the Chief Video Engineer at Harvestworks in New York and has worked on projects with various artists such as Cai Guo-Qiang, Richard Foreman and Christian Marclay.

For over six years, Shaun and Lauren have been collaborating on media projects, seeking evocative and poetic combinations of video, film and audio to create multiple-channel installations as well as single-channel pieces. They were awarded a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Video for 2002 and again in 2006. They have received grants in support of their work from the Jerome Foundation, The Greenwall Foundation, The New York State Council on the Arts, The Experimental Television Center and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Currently, they are completing work on Artificial Paradise, a four-channel video/sound installation which suggests a longing for spiritual transcendence, revealing a world of lingering energies after a possible obliteration and are beginning work on The Rest Is Silence a multi-channel video project, which uses the text of Hamlet as a base and departure point.
