KOJIMA Sako

Profile

Born in 1976, Tokyo. Completed a master in painting where she graduated from Kyoto City College of Arts, 1999. Currently lives and works in Berlin.
Major works of Kojima include paintings and drawings with small pet animals which are kept in a cage. "The reason why I become a Hamster" performed the life of a human hamster and was summoned to shows in several countries.
From 2009-2010 Kojima takes part in Yoshino Gypsum Art Foundation and the Oversea Program for Artists supported by the Japanese Government. In 2007 she presents a solo show called "The gloaming" and in 2008 another after the name "Orphan and the Old Single", both shows supported by YAMAMOTO GENDAI, Tokyo. In 2011 she is selected for a group exhibition "Domani" at The National Art Center, Tokyo. In 2013 Kojima exhibits "THE ECHO - Spreading of Light" at the Japanese Cultural Institute of Cologne (Germany).
