Profile

Born in 1987(year). Graduated from European University of Madrid in 2012.
Recent 5 main activities are 'Choreographic Architecture', 2015, University of Tokyo, 'STIK Project', 2014, University of Tokyo, 'A Beirut Monster: Infinite Spaces of Beirut' (as collaborator at Atelier Hapsitus), 2014, BAC Design Exhibition, 'Sweet Parliament Home' ( as collaborator at Andres Jaque Architects), 2011, Gwangju Design Biennale, 'Berlin Working Out', 2010, AEDES Network Campus in Berlin.

Since the beginning of her double major as architect and artist at the European University of Madrid, Deborah felt interested in complex works where the delineation between architecture, design and installation is obscured; where the outcome is a combination, a symbiosis or neither. During her studies she travelled abroad to Japan, Brazil, China, Italy, Germany, USA, and South Korea, and took part in a number of workshops in Madrid, Barcelona (at IAAC), Berlin (AEDES) and South Korea (Gwangju Design Biennale 2011).

Her current interests lay in the generating of processes more than project--experimentation with no predetermined outcome, an idea reflected in her architecture thesis (Transerai) presented in 2012.
In order to open a more global engagement, she decided to move to Bangkok to work with Francois Roche of New Territories, where she worked on unconventional / speculative projects.
Currently she studies as a MEXT scholar at The Univ. of Tokyo, (Yusuke Obuchi' Lab) where she is finalizing "Choreographic Architecture"; a project that revolves around the intersection between human body, machine, and material, and how to intrinsically hybridize the three into one process. In 2015 she co-founded with Hadin Charbel (n) approximations an interdisciplinary design research studio focused on the boundary between speculation and reality.
