NISHIMURA Ryo

NISHIMURA Ryo

Profile

Born in Kyoto in 1993. Lives and works in Kyoto. Graduated with an MFA in Printmaking from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2018.

Aiming to visualize things that we rarely pay attention to, such as the fluidity of nature, life processes, and the passage of time, Nishimura Ryo creates print works by observing his subjects and carving images into transparent plastic boards. The prints capture the “lines” that exist there together with flow and energy, and the ink that oozes into the carved and curled-up areas gives them an appearance as if imbued with vital force.
