YANG Bo

Profile

Born in Hubei Province (China) in 1991. Lives and works in Tokyo. Graduated with an MFA in Oil Painting from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2019.

Yang Bo creates paintings that take as their point of departure words in music and films from past generations. For him, making artworks is an attempt to assimilate those words as his own, and to construct a framework that might still hold even before one comes to believe in something or long for it.
