Purpose of the residency

I'd like to collaborate with visitors and fieldwork and execute myselfe in Tokyo besides other works.

In parallel with preparations for exhibitions, collecting materials for the series of works "torii" have been made in Thailand and Cambodia in April as well as in Taiwan in May. The everyday life in TWS very much involves with artists from abroad; taken them to Tsukiji Fish Market, Karaoke, Ninja-style bar and many other places as been asked, Japan in vision of foreigner is recognized to be very fresh. As the location of TWS is convenient, residents frequently gathered and visited exhibitions together, too. I slowly adjusted myself to somewhat guesthouse like life in TWS while preparing for my own exhibition to be held in July and August. Monthly held Open Studio is a great opportunity to meet many visitors that make me feel a sense of fulfillment every month even if my daily life became very busy for that. However, as the execution environment is different from what I planned the latter half of my residency will be gradually shifted to focus on the plans which make the best use of the facilities and the time given.
