Purpose of the residency

Japan and Spain are celebrating their 400th anniversary of relationship this year. So I will work through similarities and differences between Japan and Spain. I would like to try something new that I can't do it alone with the creators in a variety of fields of Matadero Madrid. Additionally, I would like to extend my range of expression by some collaboration with them. Furthermore, I will develop the project outside of the studio through communication with local people and community of Madrid. Finally, I would like to present a new landscape for Spanish people.

Plan during the residency

I will research the similarities between Japan and Spain about long life and big fish market. I will visit Spanish elderly and fish market of Madrid. So I will feel the difference between Tsukiji fish market (Japanese the biggest fish market) and Madrid one. Additionally, I would like to participate to Madrid fish market as a shop. Although, Madrid doesn't have sea, Madrid has big fish market. This thing gives me inspiration. I will make many images of sea through collaboration with the creators in a variety of fields of Matadero Madrid by a variety of ways. Now I don't decide completed version of the project. Because I want to chose the best method for Madrid.
