Purpose of the residency

The main focus of this residency is to develop our ongoing series "365 apartments". In this work we build daily an exact scaled-down living space in which we live. The materials for this come from our everyday life in Tokyo. For examples: Food packaging, train tickets, tickets for museums, café-restaurant receipts and Postcards which were sent to us. We suppose and expect that this new life situation would lead not only a change of the form and working materials, but also it would broaden our horizons and give a lot of deep experiences to us.

Plan during the residency

We work on research about history and people's daily lives through the field work in the city of Tokyo. During the stay we would like to develop our work "365 apartments" and also get to know local cultures through interacting with citizens and artists . We also participate in the group exhibition during the residency.
