Kim's practice unfolds through observing the errors that naturally emerge within rigid systems. She focuses on the non-standard survival strategies of those who exist outside precisely designed pipelines, and she has continuously developed works around these conditions.
She is interested in how subtle shifts in weight, temperature, and sensory conditions can disrupt power embedded in hierarchical systems. Through video, installation, and sculpture, she explores how individuals transform themselves within environments not designed for them.
Rather than remaining passive, she examines how they actively expand and reconfigure the boundaries of systems, revealing alternative modes of existence beyond standardized structures.
