About works / performance

My works/projects start from the small questions that I, as an observer, catch in the certain societies, and I try to find specific dispositifs across the questions, which work secretly within individuals in everyday life. I would like to make a rupture on something we firmly believe, such as ‘good/bad’ or ‘true/false’. ‘Memories Project’ treats languages which is a dispositif that creates social frames. This project collects individuals’ memories about disappearing languages. After going through two World Wars, many languages in Asia were lost as the continent underwent dramatic social shifts and it is still continuing today in many parts of the world. Sharing a similar history, Asia also witnessed a gradual extinction of native languages in many parts of the region, and although they represent different nations and races, this common experience of loss binds them in a meaningful way.
